Hello!
The last update was by Li Yan more than 2 months ago, which included my 18th birthday.
I'm so touched.

Sometimes, I don't know whether this 'family' exists anymore.
My MSN contact list still contains a separate group '1307' with your contacts there.
I don't feel like changing it or ever intend to.

I hope you guys still carry on, although we're not that innocent anymore.

There're Sec3s and 4s now.
And Jacko in J2 and myself as a University freshman.

The Good Times have passed by too quickly.

I promise you guys we'd meet up again during my winter break when I'm back.

I think it'd be better to blog in larger font because despite typing so much, it still appears so pathetic in the entry portion.

I just came upon this family 1601 thing. Quite adorable? Heh.

Anyway it's nearly 6am back in Singapore so I doubt anyone would see this until tonight or something, or did anyone even read the entry before this anyway?

It's the day of my school ball. Trinity Hollywood Ball, to be specific. It should be fun I guess. Hopefully I can upload pictures from the event for you all to see. Yes Naima is hot okay. I mean, cool. Haha I think only Lihua would understand what I mean. Hor? =P

Alrighties, I heard about a family outing to Sentosa or something? I guess I might have to describe my Decemeber plans, especially with my family because honestly, I don't know when my parents would spring a surprise overseas trip to don't-know-where-but-somewhere. Nevertheless, I'm sure you're aware when I'm returning already. (:

Hey guys it has been two weeks since anyone updated and I wonder what's going on.

Hope everyone did well in their studies!
Hope all Sec2s will manage to get into their desired courses next year.
Hope all Sec3s promoted to Sec4 and study hard for their N and O levels.
I'm sure Jacko did well in her promos and have no problem in promoting to J2 but wish her all the best in band as well!

I am in the midst of Term 4 and buried in work but still breathing over the surface. I have to pia and do well for this term or I won't be able to enter the course I want in Uni next year. So ya, all the best to me too. Haha.

I miss band.
I listen to band music frequently but it's just not the same as being in the band and playing the instrument. It's the not same if I don't have others to share the passion with either. It's hard, because there are hardly any band people around here, let along joining one.

Man I intended to type a long post but now, I don't seem to have anything to talk about.

I've some very interesting news! Nai-chan knows already though.

The 5th Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is going to be released worldwide on...

13th JULY 2007.

How coincidental is that?!

And I'll be back in Singapore during that time because university mid-term break is one month! Hopefully Jacko can make time for this.
YAY.
I've got something to look forward to now, although it's nearly 9 months away.

And Happy Children's Day.
Although we don't celebrate it officially any longer, we're all still young at heart.

Dont start to blame each other for what happen today . If you all want your own band room work for it! DO NOT expect the leaders to go and talk to the P and VP about it.And i do not see why you all should get a band room when you are not working for it. If you put in your heart and soul to play this will never happen.NEVER! You guys here are all in the band comm and i believe you should show good examples and encouraging you juniors and push them to work , you can even build the passion in them IF your really put in effort to teach them. Simple things like getting your juniors to sit 1/3 of the chair and the correct posture will help in the playing .

WE should show good examples like tucking in your shirt at ALL TIMES be it zwinds tee,school uniform or pe tee . So cherish your practice on friday , and i DO NOT want to see anyone of you here walking to other section and form and mini band .If im your juniors i will have a very bad impression of you , i would think that its because im hard to teach thats why my senior walk off and from a mini band.Its not hard to teach if you really put in your EFFORT and most imptly patience. Try other methods if the one you are using now are not working, there must be a way .

NEVER give up and keep trying.Bring your inst home during starting from tomorrow . DO NOT think that 10 mins will not help you at all. It helps when you put in your EFFORT.WE should not think highly of ourselves, we do not sound good.Listen to his advice and you will be able to reach the standard , he knows what is he doing. Dont argue even if they sound dont sounds right to you , because he knows what he is doing.At this point of time , WE should not break apart instead we should be help each other and together overcome this.Start by helping each other out and giving words of encouragment to your members and your peers.Dont think it wont help , IT WILL.Lets jia you !

Does things have to such situations then we realise that we all are in the wrong? I really hope not.

sometimes i realise what is this 1307 family is for? this crazy bunch of ppl come togther and become a family because of one word passion. now i see that this family is broken does it means that there is no more passion for music in us thats why this family ended up like this?i hope not.i believe that when this 12 crazy people come together because of their passion for music. passion is stm that all of us need when we are doing every single thing. it even applys to your school work as well.if you dont have the passion for it you will just simply go to school early in the morning and copy the answers from your friends.if you really have the passion for it , you will sit down and really try to understand the question and how to solve it .

its the same for music also . when you get a new score/ song and if you are those who dont have the passion for music you wont even bother whats the tittle of the song and wont even bother to study it.but if you got passion for it and when you recieve a new song/score , you will be very excitied and start to read through the score and try to get the fingerings right. and maybe to the extend of getting your conductors to start playing the song as soon as possible and will just keep bugging him till he plays that song.

yes, maybe some of us wont like him because he is strict. but if you happen to think about it and why he is strict to us you will start to like him and understand him.its for our own good.have you ever think how much he did for us since last year ? i remembered that he did not wear his coat because of us , we could not rush out the coat in time.and rmb that he prayed for us inside the tuning room.and when he see his students so nervous up on the stage , he just simply give a smile. and a smile really means alot when you are up on the stage . alot i can tell you.

All the ' breaks ' we have for band practices is sort of a counselling session . he is trying to instill the correct vaules in us. but we just simply shut off our computers and stare at him and hope that he thinks that we are listening to him.he knows whats going to happen if we do certian things that are wrong and we dont even realise and he will tell us but have we ever listen to him?

some of us here in this family are in band since the age of 7 or 8 .but think about it , so many years in band do you know what does band really means and whats the most important factor ? it is passion .passion , heart , soul , responsibility and self-discipline is what you need. only 5 factor .if we really put in effort things wont be in such situation.i feel bad too because i cannot keep the tempo . im sorry guys. lets work hard this thursday ! lets go for it ! Rmb - one band one sound one missing no sound.

Why mei ren update leh ? 1st july family outing keep yourself free on that day . Give suggestion for the family outing like where to go and what time . Maybe this family outing we can go fly kite and scream all you want at east coast !Leave your suggestions on the tagboard and please keep it alive at all times . =D And Da bao please ask ASAP , need time to do one not one day can finish one . Only left with abt 2 mths to do ? Can someone do something with this skin ? My jaws really hurt now.Couldn't stop laughing this afternoon, evening and night!It all started at 1545 at Serangoon MRT station.The others, Lihua, Ian, Samuel (Ang) and Elaine were already there.I topped up my old EZ-link card because I left the one my brother had gotten for me in Melbourne.Ian let me listen to the audio version of 'Canon rock' by JerryC.We were waiting for Alvin but he said he would meet us at the movie theatre.

We couldn't stop laughing on the train.I had forgotten how it felt to be on the MRT and to use EZ-link and listening to the announcements in 4 languages.The 4 of them said my style of laughing changed.Samuel said they were laughing at my laughter, which resulted in non-stop laughing.To demonstrate my 'knowledge' at Drama class, I slapped Ian.Think he was shocked but hey! It didn't hurt! Or at least I hope it didn't.Then the two of us were pointing at the MRT NE-Line stations, saying 'Oh we started from here' (points at Serangoon), 'then started laughing here' (points at unlabelled Woodleigh), 'took a break here' (points at Boon Keng)' and so on and so forth.I started laughing because it was so silly of us to be discussing this and then the 4 of them started laughing all over again. =\We also teased Lihua for her, erm, well, lack of vertical status.=P

We got off at Dhoby Ghaut and changed to NS-Line towards Orchard.Didn't know the way to Lido but found our way out first.Ended up outside Takashimaya.Shaw House was quite a distance from where we were.Then I ran, and the others followed.Heh.Training for their 2.4km run!Samuel bought the tickets for the show 'Ice Age 2' at 5.05pm.They stole my Trinity College student card. =\Bought popcorn but we were laughing again, so the 3 vendors there probably thought we were crazy but they looked amused anyhow.Went into the theatre at 5.15pm and the movie had already started.Alvin came moments later.Ian and I were sharing one combo and boy, we really demolished our popcorn in no time at all.

Then the others kept supplementing our bucket.Eat and eat and eat.Supplemented.Eat and eat and eat.Supplemented.LOUSY LA THE REST!I couldn't finish my drink though.The movie was hilarious.Great script and loved the characters of the possums.There were some meaningful lines as well, along the lines of 'The good old days' and 'Forget about the past for the future'.Lihua liked 'em too.=)After that, we were planning to go for dinner and Samuel suggested 'Food Republic' at Wisma Atria.Before that, Alvin wanted to buy something at Borders but had forgotten what it was so Ian suggested going there to 'scan'.Samuel did something really retarded - listening to the popcorn.

He was shaking and shaking the bucket and holding it up to his ear.He couldn't enter Borders because of his drink and the popcorn so he stayed outside by himself at the bottom of the escalator.Looked kind of silly, seeing him standing there by himself and eating popcorn while staring into space.And we listened to the popcorn as well.He threw the popcorn and drink away on the way to Wisma Atria.4 of us - Alvin, I, Ian and Samuel surrounded Lihua and continued walking.From a passer-by's view, I doubt Miss Ting can be seen at all.Outside Wisma Atria, I got Lihua and Alvin to stand together and look at each other. Seriously, I was imagining them kissing! x)Then Lihua started strangling me and it was so ticklish!I ran to the main doors and crouched in a corner, with my hands on my head and laughing away.

That very position sparked off something I tell mention about later.Samuel kept making fun of it, saying that it would be something I would do when encountering a robber.=\We went up to Food Republic and boy, it was really 'people mountain people sea'.Ian, Elaine, Alvin and I went to the Nike corner and all I wanted was that pair of 'soccer shoes' but they were men's.I think in terms of sports shoes, I prefer the guys' ones to the girls'.Tried out some really cool Baseball gloves too.Samuel found some seats and the other 5 of us went to buy our food first.I bought Hot Plate Mixed Rice from the Korean stall.It isn't called 'Hot Plate' for nothing.The kimchi sauce was so spicy and the rice and meat were piping hot!I was the last one to finish my food although it wasn't cleaned thoroughly.Saw Mdm. Liang there too.

Alvin and I were reminiscing the 'The good old days' of Zhband and wow, I nearly teared while thinking about it.Oh alright, the food was actually too hot for me to handle.Nice Lihua bought me green tea. =)I also told them a random point from Psychology class, that you should remain still when someone is trying to rape/molest you. I hadn't gotten to the 'why' part...AND.THAT SILLY SAMUEL STARTED TO IMITATE MY POSTURE BACK IN THAT CORNER.ARGH!!!After leaving Wisma Atria, that Samuel pointed to that corner and wanted me to re-enact it!STUPID SAMUEL!!!I refused to so I ran away.Lihua chased me and we started doing an Indian 'Tree Dance'.Then we stopped underneath a staircase.

I was so tiring that my laughing was half-dead.The others couldn't stop laughing at my half-dead laughing.Honestly, is it that funny???Then we got up because someone was smoking nearby.I ran towards a public telephone booth and we all started laughing again.Oops because someone was using the booth next to us.We walked over to Takashimaya and they wanted me to do 'Crouch in a corner and laugh' and scene again.I hugged the pillar instead!=PThen we were discussing where we wanted to go next.But Ian and Lihua started poking me!Poke and poke and poke!I couldn't take it and ran.They chased and continued poking!Then I ran to Wisma Atria.They still chased me and continued poking!Then I ran back to Takashimaya and into the main floor.Was so exhausted and kept talking about the 'Exit' signs.Then I ran again.Timothy called me then and I was unable to answer properly.

Alvin talked to him instead.Waa then I ran AGAIN.Went down the escalator and ran to Coffee Bean.Realized that it was Samuel every time who managed to stop me in my tracks.I was seriously on the verge of crying already but somehow, I found the whole scene funny yet I didn't want it to continue any longer.It feels horrible to be chased and poked okay!Got up abruptly and ran again.Alvin had gone to the toilet so the others went as well, leaving me to escape.I wandered around, into Zara and out onto the bench, all the while having a fear that someone would poke me from behind.I kept looking and looking behind me.Renee called me and asked about tomorrow's plan but I wasn't with the others then so I asked her to call Ian instead.Then Alvin called to ask where I was and we just bumped into each other.He went to mislead them to B2 and when he called me again, Ian spotted me and ran up.

I escaped again into Timberland and then into Zara.Ian called and I admitted I was outside Zara.Alvin appeared just then and we went down to B2.Didn't feel like playing any longer so we went back up.I hid behind Alvin the moment Ian and Lihua made the motion to come after me.We walked towards the MRT station and then Alvin and I poked Lihua on the sides.SHE SCREAMED.LOUDLY.Everyone around us turned to look!=DSamuel and Ian left us and the remaining of us went to take NS-Line back to Dhoby Ghaut.Silly Elaine nearly fell when the train stopped!Lucky Lihua and I grabbed her before she fell backwards.

She stayed to go to Kovan station while Alvin, Lihua and I went to Serangoon Bus Interchange.Took 315 back home.

SO TIRED.

Tomorrow's gonna be another 'fun' day!And that Alvin better not circulate that stupid picture he took of me!

am here to blog about our ACHIEVEMENT (:
we got THIRD in the cca cheer competition . yeah !!
all these weeks of hardwork and sweat paid off and i wanna say i am extremely proud of you guys :>

she came all the way from australia just to support and see us today ,

to LCB , you say you dont give a damn about whether the band gets gold or cop or wadeva rite ?? well , i dont care . i think you just sticking with band coz you want to share our glory . SHIT you . and please for goodness sake , dont act young lah . " you are blocking the way man ... " so old still act . its REVOLTING (: notice i am using green . LOL! hahah

i also wanna add from tmr onwards my saturdays will be pretty boring coz we dont have cheer le . its sad ): i guess although it sort of sucks when you wake up every sat to think tt you must go for cheer but now you wake up on sat morn thinking , i dont have cheer le . something is not right lah , everything changes ?! hais . i will miss the times we had under the hot sun training de .

to the seniors who didn't have much confidence in us ,i hope we proved you all wrong by winning a bronze medal . to seniors tt helped us alot like fiona , kunlong etc , sorry tt we wasted yr time by not putting in effort . today we give it all we got le , we did our best , we shouted loudly . hope you all will forgive us . please dont think tt all yr hardwork has gone down the drain coz it hasn't.

i gained alot from the cheer and we worked as a team to achieve our goal , although i'm sorry to say we broke the tradition of always getting gold by getting a bronze medal . all it matters is that we understand one another better and gained precious memories and experience tt we will keep for life right ???

last but not least to say a big thank you to our naima yiching for always supporting and believing us , to our ah gong lihua for being patient with us and our marmie xinni who thought and taught us all the cute and wonderful actions (:

I believe that even if we lose or win tml , what we enjoy its not the reslut but the process. The joy , how we shake our butt , why we stayed backe after cheer till 4pm . i really want to thanks for those who stayed back till 4 to try the belok the mace actions with me and how we marched under the rain and run off when we wanted to march out.

It is really fun to have you guys to be so enthu in the cheer , all the problems we face and the remarks they made , all those really make us bond and understand each other more then before.I hope our hard work and the time ,sweat, blood we put in will not go down the drain.
Blood is me la i hurt myself playing the the mace =) Haha YAY!

Hey guys,

Buck up on cheer ok! Go read the zwinds blog if you haven see yet. Look at them so smart looking rite, muz jia you . must show them we can do it! Esp . the 5 of you , always busy busy busy manage your time well and you so many time left for you do so many meaningful things. You all so must have self-discipline , learn to REN ! <- most important . Regradless how ugly its the unifrom or smart looking it is , pls bear with it for 2 more weeks. The contigent is taking up our practice so pls pls pls pls make use of the time we have do it fast and quick .

If you have no memorise your cheer pls do so or if you dun have the cheer you can ask me to send to you online via email or msn. Movement wise , you can call xinni hse or ask her online memorise it .You have to practice your movement , you can pratice anytime anywhere .For example when you are bathing ! HAHA you can practice in your bathroom if you wan . Go and rmb your steps for formation and i dun wan other seniors to see that we are doing the cheer like last yr what ELDDS did,its awful . Buck up ! =)

If you are missing the things below pls find me on monday after sch inside band room :

Cheer practice will be on monday 27/3, wednesday 29/3 and saturday 30/3 next week. There is no practice this sat due to the meet the parent session so it will be held on monday instead. there will be contigent this wednesday pls go for cheer after the contigent practice.

I seriously hope that , we can show the seniors what we can do ourselves we cannot depend on them anymore. i hope you guys can show to your seniors that coming down to help for cheer either kun long , xuenan , fiona and even your peers or whoever, make them feel that it is worth it to spend time coming down to help and practice with us.

As for what happened thursday , i feel that we are partly at fault too.

PROB:

1] Some went to the lit evening and din tell the SL so that he or she will be able to tell mr chew.

2] If you happen to have SSP or you know it last min pls sms mr chew or tell your SL or ASL .

3]Arrangement of the scores are not in order,not pasted together.Its impossible for mr chew to paste for you rite, he come in for every practice and tell you to paste and arrange but we didnt.

4]When changing of song, is there a need to talk? All you have to do its to put back the score and pull other one out, thats it.

5] Combine practice with sec 1s, i know you guys will tell your sec1s when he or she plays wrong but if you happen to be attentive, do you realise mr chew or mr mas will give us time to explain to the sec 1s. And there is no need to talk.

6] You shld know what to do for every single song and i dun have to say , i know you guys are tired and will be lazy to push but if you want a better song and dun sond so bad you have to do that so that you can bring the band to higher standard.

7]Friday sectonals , people come at 2.3pm and slack when they are having sectionals.

8] Eat before you come band and are to fall in at 2.30pm if you have ssp eat during 1,50 to 2.30 and when ssp finish or it reaches 3.30 jus tell your teacher that you have to go.

SOLUTION :

1] Tell your SL or ASL that on which day you cannot come or will be late so that he or she will be able to tell mr chew so that mr chew will also be able to plan for the practice . so SL and ASL here pls give your nos. to mr chew, if you dun have mr chew no. you get from me or any leaders.PLS state your name and where you are from eg. im so and so from zwinds and will be coming late for band because of...

2]Arrange your scores marches on the left and others on the right , paste your scores and paste form the back not one the front.SL and ASL pls check all your files and arrange it every friday .

3] keep your mouth shut unless you dun understand and have to ask a question and mr chew will give you time to tell your sec1s what to do .

4]pls do what you have to do , you know what i mean.

5]friday its the only day where you can teach your sec1s and interact with them during breaks,every thurs and tues you dun have the time to teach because you are havin a combine practice and you to keep queit during practices.You can bring your husband or wife home [ instr if you dunno.] but pls tell the QM and take good care of them, they are part of you .

If the teacher dun allow you to go after 3.30 give thousand and millon reason to go band and if he or she still dun allow ask for permission to go tell your band leader and pls tell us the teacher name also.

Although there is still many many problems to be listed but we try to slove the most basic and impt one.All of us have to put ourselves into the conductors shoes , imagine you are teaching but your students are talking and dun give a damn about you , how do you feel?Do the leaders have to tell you to keep your noise level down and they have to SHHHHHHHH!!!! every single min , every single preactice , every single hour and every single second??? NO you r suppose to be understanding and co-opreative .

Leaders are members who can express your thoughts or solution to the teacher or the conductors . they are not your maid, they are not suppose to help you to do every single thing . they are there to lead and help to communicate.

Maybe thrusday its the 1st practice that we cannot relay on our sec 4 seniors animore, we have to be independent and strong. We cannot always relay on the seniors to help, try your best and you can do it.

Mr chew finally agree to stay because we manange to gamble with him that after the marchholidays, the band will be a band with good discipline and will respect him.it is because he feel that we talk all the time and dun give a damn abt him standing infront trying hard to bring the band to higher standard.so pls change your attitude and pls be self-disicipline.

like what ms pang says, mr chew is like a bird which flys in and make himself a home and have childrens and we are the children, but one day an animal come and hurt us but mr chew try to protect us in some way or another , we are like his childrens and he try every single way to protect us but we did not put ourselves into his shoe and one day he have no chioce but to leave .He is a good conductor and we want him back so pls understand him .

I regreted not bring my alpha 7 score home ..darn it ! so that i can listen to it and memo the score at the same time . and to horn section work hard for the opening ! liyan you are gonna be dead ! haha

I still cant draw a line between the sec1s and me . Its like they all are so cute and those i took marching on friday was so funnie , and i make use of the chocs that alvin give me and rewarded some of them to the 6 crazy sec 1s i took. they kept laughing dunno why so crazy esp the ziyi... the 6 of them are ziyi , gladys ,samuel lee , ming hao , kelly and i forget haha!They are so cute lor ! And today cheer practice , at ser. stadium , we saw MISS TAN ! A SHOCK OF MY LIFE !!! she was wearing a bright orange short and a grey tee this shows that she is colour blind y? cause she dunno how to wear clothes and her her colour combination is ahemm....HAHA!

She came towards the 12 of us and ask what are we doing here , i replied practicing for cheer. she asked agian when ? for sports day i said and she said that wow so early its in april and you guys started! and i wanted to say we started late already but i din haha.then she took about applying it to our sch work .. darn her saturday took about sch for what... Although I doubt any one of you would come to read this, let alone update this, I would like to leave one last post here for all of you while I'm still in Singapore.

Rumours come and go. Problems come and go. Troubles come and go. But unhappiness will tend to stick to you if you don't learn to let go.

I understand that many of you are having troubles in band and have a hard time keeping up with your studies as well. Hence, giving homework excuses to make up the lack of dedication in band pop up ubiquitously amongst you all.

True band members don't use such excuses. Perhaps sometimes you do think that way because your family members are giving you headaches as well from constant nagging. However, you must learn and know that BAND is not a distraction from schoolwork. It's a form of personal character development. You're all smart enough to understand what that means.

In any case, to me, I can never let go of band.
I have been in band more than half my life and I'd never let my passion go even though I'm not even in a band right now.

So to everyone - let Band become a Motivation, a Space for your passion and dreams to come true, a Place where you can call your 3rd home.

To Li Hua.
Please do not give up.
No matter what problems you encounter, you must be strong enough to overcome them and I know you can do so. You have all the makings of a leader so don't let be traumatized by situations with teachers and other leaders. A leader will know how to deal with them and also win respect from the members. Secondary 3 life is an arduous journey to Secondary 4, that's without a doubt. I've been through it and yes, the piles of homework but I have never let my homework problems cross my dreams of having band success in whatever events there are, one of the prominent ones of which was CHEER. Help each other. Support each other. Do your homework together and study together. Don't suffer by yourself in silence or else, hidden hostility might develop unwittingly and make everyone around you unhappy as well. Good luck and help your juniors.

To the 'Wu Bao Tai'.
Although I have never recognized you all as this labelled name, you're still the bunch of Sec1s I have been close to in Band last year. No doubt most of you are outstanding in your sections and band, but likewise, Secondary 2 is after all your streaming year. This is the time to really push yourself to be satisfied with your results at the end of the year, not to mention the practice for SYF next year. Despite any problems within the upper secondary seniors and leaders, please do not think that your seniors are not as highly-strung as you are. They themselves have problems and troubles to solve so sometimes, they might get intolerant of unnecessary behaviour during band hours so mind your manners in certain situations. Have a happy 'childhood'.

To Jacqueline:
You've been through all the band troubles with me since Secondary 3 and I will forget how much you have helped me. With Cheer, with the transition of a new instructor, with Band Investiture etc, with Beatrice as well, the three of us were indestructible. Who knows when there will ever another dream team like us again? =P
Even though we had different approaches towards solving a problem, we compromised. Even though we disagreed with certain ways of solving, we all agreed that was the best way in the end for the band to progress. In other words, we all have one Vision.
Even as we break down in front of each other, we comforted one another and pulled ourselves together. We never failed to see the vision for the Band. Even now, as sometimes we hear discerning rumours, we contact each other to find out. Leaving Zhonghua Band wasn't the end of our Band life. Although I'm not in a band right now, I still feel as much for band as you and Beatrice. I love you! Enjoy JC Life! <3 color="#33cc00">Zhonghua Band a better band than before. Never stop improving. Always look up. And never stop seeing what a band Zhonghua Band can be in the future, positively of course.

Yo!!! Da Bao here... collect enuf ang paos already??? kk... now, todaes performance was pretty gd, and mr chew commented us too!!! yeah!!! bt we shall nt be too arrogant about it. Anywae, b4 us was unity sec, the songs that they played were familiar to us like sock hop and cny hits 2. luckily we did nt play the same thing or the audience will be bored.

Frankly speaking, wat i lyk about our performance was that our band wasnt juz a band. We were a band hu plays chinese songs quite well and sings just as well. I mean the two other components shudnt be part of the band bt we covered it all well. Anywae, then it was our turn. Played the few same interesting songs, pretty much like the incredibles although it was half way cut off in order to invite mr president S R Nathan. So when he came, we played duke and beyond. Then he left. he shud be quite please and fascinated that we sing. Lolx.

then we also took a foto wif him. toured around the istan. Wasnt wat i expected coz i tot they will show us the whole of it. Ahhhh!!! We are on tv!!! I mean i juz ran to see the president at the istana on the tv. Channel U. Lolx. anywae, ya, then ermm, it was st anthonys after us. they had more viewers then us though. most were aunties. Muz hav been those fans of S R Nathan. Lolx.

Ya, so we packed up and went home. On the bus, er bao and si bao sae the curry puffs and sardine puffs that they supplied are too oily and they wanna vomit. Lolx. kk. Thats all lah, wanna play games. Bye!!!

I know most of you are busy with school, band, homework, family matters and band.
So the wonderful me has decided to blog again.
I am not at the liberty to blog but for Jacqueline's sake as well, I have decided to divide some of my precious time to do something about this blog.

If possible, could someone do something about the layout?
No offence because I know the current one is something of a trademark of 1307, largely due to the drawing on the left.
Anyway, if anyone has time, just do some tweaks here and there please.

This was my primary school band, taken in the school cafeteria in the old school campus (the door in the background leads to the computer lab 1). The photo shows the entire cohort who took part in the Singapore Youth Festival 2000 Central Judging for Concert Bands (Primary), when I was Primary 5 then and played French Horn. It's pretty obvious where I am in the photo. To those who are blind, I am in the third row, extreme left. To be direct, I'm standing in front of the girl wearing school uniform and partially blocking her on the LEFT. And there is Mr. Aw, who obviously had a different hairstyle back then.

We played set piece The Crossings and choice piece The Last to Defend by David Shaffer.

Our band then was probably one the smallest ones in the entire competition but we did well for a barely-reached-the-minimum-number-of-members-needed band.

Wonder why I posted this up? I'm just feeling nostalgic and seeing that this year is the SYF again for primary schools, I really hope that Poi Ching School Band can break the Bronze medal curse.

Hi guys, such a long time i din blog le. But thanks to Da bao Er bao and Xiao wu to keep this blog alive. And yayness tml nai ma will be back and i got milk to drink liaos.. yucks to er xin haha!Guess you guys must be reali tired by today audition and so am i =).

Tml attire is sch tee and sch bottoms, and i warn you guys that U BETTER do u marching well tml as it is taken by NCC , thus if you guys still want to be proud of zwinds pls behave well. DUN let the NCC laugh at u and say wahh band marhcing so sucks sia =\.so buck on marching =).

And because of certian reasons, we will be opening the band rm on wednesday for u guys to practice and do stm useful for example: teaching ur juniors or do admin stuff.Pls dun be lyk me jason and ian wednesday open rm and wait for the whoeva but din come and we started playing with fiona hairband as know as .... dun say later u all vomit HAHA and playing with key so on hide here and there and that stupid jason and ian aka xiao wu kill u guys when i got time !=)

One more thing, to you guys being seniors in the coming few weeks,pls reminded that to make ur lovly juniors at home and lyk a family for example: Percussion section and Flute section=)But i wan to warn the flute section dun always tok =) and i hope my section players to be more decent and not horny haha !And i found out jason ,ian and me are horny haha ! anithing is that , if u want the juniors to respect u, u have to respect them 1st b4 they learn how to respect and respect is earn not by force u know ?!=)

If u want the sec 1s to behave good pls conduct urself well in front of them b4 they do so and they will learn form good examples and i mean reali good examples.And if u love ur lovly juniors teach them well and treat them wekk but at times u have to be strict with them not always play play lyk me =) and im also happie go lucky haha !

hi, tis is my first time blogging so a little bad at it. Anywae, todae's banner making dae, we made a real cool banner and nailed the rest of the banner up too. The temptation to cover the ncc's banner was strong, but in the end, we still hung it at the railings whereby the sec 1's can see during morning assembly. Another was hung at the red part of "wall" above the opening of the canteen. Then the other one is outside our band room. The last one muz wait tomorrow see wat mr chew sae lohx. (I think.) Anywae, we had real fun todae. The gals decorated the new banner while the 7 pathetic guys nailed and hung the previous banners all over the scool. No wonder mr chew sae need more guys nxt yr. 26/12/05 already.
It has been exactly one year since the tsunami tragedy.
Let us all have a minute of silence for the victims from that unfortunate disaster.

One more week before you all return to school too.
Sec2 and 3s already, pretty fast, isn't it?
Then next thing you know, you'd be progressing onto Sec3 and 4, where I'll also be starting Year 1 in University.
Time and tide wait for no man, so do cherish your years with your friends, and persuasively, your teachers.
Oh and your family too.
Soon, you'll be devoting most of your time to schoolwork and outdoor chilling, hence neglecting your family at home.
Ironically, I chill at home but not with my family.
Yes you guessed it, I always chill in front of this box I using to blog this now=)

So, what can I say?
Work hard and play hard.
Don't take your studies and work for granted because they're really important, since MOE is making so many changes to the education system.
Better watch out before you fall behind.

Oh yes.
Please try your best to pull in as many Sec1s as you can, whether they have music/band experience or not. But of course don't force them lah~ It'll just kill their interest and dislike band for their next 4/5 years in the school.
If you're not sure of how to 'attract', please ask Jacqueline for advice.
She has 3 years of experience regarding this matter=)
Worst come to worst, ask me, but it's not really recommended because I'm trying to avoid helping out yeah?
Haha just kidding lah.

Probably come on 7th Jan to help out?
Then later that night, I'm flying to Japan.
Then there'll be tryouts for performing arts the coming Thursday.

This is probably the most important way of handling a Sec1.
Never let them feel neglected.
Don't hang out in your cliques in band.
Help out and talk to them as much as possible to make them feel at home.
Joke, laugh and talk POSITIVELY about band.
BUT.
Never, NEVER insult other CCAs.
NEVER.
If the other CCAs dare to do that, report to the Teachers, Band AND those CCAs'.
It's never good to play underhand, just undermining their character to pull in as many recruits as THEY can because they're desperate.
However, if you do hear Sec1s talking bad about band, do try to clarify with them in a nice way.

Nice band members. Nice band seniors. Nice band practice.
Who wouldn't join yeah?

I hope I'm not just making empty talk here.
Do heed seriously of what I just typed above.

Hihi im back from the band camp =) nobody tag or blog abt camp one..

day 1

was a bit chaotic. [ its is spelled lyk this?] band practice sound abit funnie , i dunno y lols my bunk ppl cant slp at nite i slept onli lyk 2 hrs? we sat outside toking wasting our energy, mr ong ask us to go in but we din but her try asking us agian and we went in .

day 2

day2 was ... i dunno how to say . night games was fun with all those water bombs bombing each other snatching shoes and the plastic bag . my grp went crazy snatching those shoes , and jason went shouting when he was running so funnie, nancy was guarding the shoes and the bombs =)

and the games at music rm , we have to crawl in army style abit funnie. they said that there are meal worms blah blah but fake one. some ppl shouted loudly and some band the door to make effects but nothing la.

some were so scare that there are meal worms but thinkg agian will they spend the band fund buying those meal worms to scare us?lols. ppl went to shower after that ate supper . me and elaine went up to check the music rm it was in a total mess ! timo was tried and sick, marcus,carol and lydia was trying on each other instr. we get ppl come up and clear up and didi alot of things. i lock the door but then ms chan tok to me after that i cried for some reason fiona and mich tok to me blah blah blah slept at 2am cause we were toking abt some things and we eat chips =) and day 2 is very tearful...

day 3

we have to clean up and wash the toilets =) some din wash the toilets , haha and i rmb me and elaine draggin mops,tongs and other things around the whole sch to check the toilets and the catenn male toilet we did something so intersting because we wanted to wash the toilet clean =) if u want to know im glad to tell u =)hehe. was a bit chaotic because of the bunks and ropes and many many things .

im such a pig when i reach home i ate and slept from 3pm to the next day de 4 pm ! dun mind me cause i onli slept abt 8 hours for 3 days .HAHAHAHA and im so blind now i haven go do my glasses yet ! %#$#&^%&*^&$% opps!

Band camp 05'

Date: 15th Dec. to 17th Dec.
Place: In school

On 15 th Dec. fall in wearing your school p.e tee and school bottom only thosewho are overall in charge of band camp are to fall in with track pants .The logistic Department of band camp are excuse to fall in on time.

Bunks will be on the 1st floor as Mr Thana said that his cleaners have already clean the 2nd ,3rd and 4th floor already.And now all the toilets in school have a shower already but members are allowed to use certain toilets only even if you are a male, you might have to go to a female toilet to shower and the female may have to go to the male toilet.

Band camp pack list.

1. Long pants / Short pants (x2)

2. School p.e tee (x2)

3. Casual clothes/ section tee (x4 sets)

4. Undergarments ( enough for personal usage )

5. School socks / white socks (x2)

6. School shoes (x1)

You guys should know why you were pumped . If you u dont know i tell you why , when Mr Mas is trying to tell you guys things you all are talking . When the leaders are trying to tell you all things that are important you all are also talking . So please dont discuss things or talk during band stay alert and attentive.

Do you guys want a family outing? If you want please plan and it should be planed by the wu bao tai to train the 5 of you de planning ( stupid excuse to ask you all to plan but for your own good =) ) .Oh ya family outing is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED as the sec 4 are leaving and yi ching will not be in s,pore the next few years... so please go and think about it.( and soon aft they leave , this family will ' shan' are we gonna to bring in more family members from the next yr sec 1 or what or to leave to be like this? are we going to have new grandchildren ? )hehex go and think .

As 4 the upcoming performances, music and movement...
well sad to say, the whole band would not be playing as we could see from past experiences that the auditorium is definitely too small for our full strength.BUT there will be more performances for the main band.=Dthe rest. dont feel crestfallen. definitely there will be chances for you to show off your talents and hard work. Another performance is at the RC where we perform for some festival if i am not wrong.=)Our performance at macritchie reservoir falls on 3th december. another public performance! weeee! so let's work hard for the future performances!Cheerio!

Haha..i din expect so little people to come to the school open house.

Hmmm... mr chew say that the playing improve alot ! hehe =D BUT ur movement is very slow !!! muz speed up but the arrangement and the plan done my the QM is not bad he said he that he was impressed by the planning .

And i want to thank LAO DA reali from my bottom of my heart! Pei me through all the planning ,facing all the teachers and all the problems we face...

Hmmm.... okay peeps, we will be busy for the next few months,we have perfromances,marching and most impt. the band camp.For Oct. , we have a perfromance for the school open house which is on the 29th of oct. saturday.you all have to fall in at 12.30pm but our perfromance time is from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.For Nov..we have a perfromance on 18th of Nov. which is also in the school agian.And also on the 26th nov. we have a perfromance agian but this time is outside school so u people better behave yourselves! venue of perfromance :( i also dunno =/).Dec. we have Band camp ! which is on the 15th of Dec. to 17th of Dec. (date is confirm)Band camp will be fun!.

For more info for example, repertoire for the above perfromaces, please go to the notice band outside the music room .Oh and learn "singapore rhapsody" we are going to play for one of the perfromances in school.Please check ur uniform ,polish ur marching shoes if u have to,buy if u have to and most impt.work hard for the perfromances.=DIm sure that we are gonna learn a new song called "beyond the sea" i also dunno wads that if u are intrested u all can go to media guide. hehe .And also for SYF 2007 u all also know wad song ritez. Let me see what had happened this week, ok lame you all know that this week is exam week.

Hmmm.. so hows u all de exam? muz be very gd..haha cause band stop so long leh! muz get ur A1s.nvm im juz jking but if u have done ur best can le...

We may not be having a chalet le cause teachers dun wan so too bad but there is a band camp! *cheers* . band camp may fall on the 21,22,23 of dec.(not confirm)so try to stay in s'pore. some people say waa sian band camp dun wan la i rather go chalet la.but i muz say band camp is really fun if u really really really love band,i bet nai ma and nai dou will agree with me .=D

hmm... there will also be a open house performance in school.so try to revise ur fingering and drumming , read through ur score and try to rmb wad we have done b4 the exams and rmb to oil ur instrument.

hmmm... so i expect to see better result after a long time so the next practice i see u peeps i wan to c the standard haha=)hmm.. u peeps start saving $ .haha we are gonna to buy stm for liyan and going to vist her when she in hospital so ya ...SAVE $$$ =D
